South Korea and the Philippines have long enjoyed a strong and friendly relationship as close allies. We, Koreans, have never forgotten how the Philippines generously extended its help during our time of war and hardship. For that, we remain deeply grateful.

Every year, many Korean tourists visit the Philippines, contributing significantly to the local economy. These visits create jobs not only for Korean residents but also for many Filipino citizens, who work hard to support their families.

However, when Koreans are brutally killed, it sends a message that the Philippines may no longer be a safe destination. This will inevitably lead to a decline in tourism. As a result, many Filipinos who rely on tourism-related jobs may lose their livelihoods.

Mr. Mayor,
No place in the world is free from crime, but it is rare for tourists to be openly shot in the streets. Such violence will bring suffering not just to the victims, but to the entire local community, especially Filipino workers.

I sincerely ask for your help.
Angeles City is one of the most popular destinations for Korean visitors. In nearly all criminal cases, the perpetrators use motorcycles, most often riding in pairs.

Please consider enforcing regulations on two-person motorcycle riding. I urge you to conduct strict inspections on all two-person motorcycle riders.

Let us work together to make Angeles a safer place — not just for Korean visitors, but for the Filipino citizens who work alongside them.

Please help protect their jobs and livelihoods.

그러나 한국인들이 잔인하게 살해되는 사건이 발생하면, 필리핀이 더 이상 안전한 여행지가 아니라는 메시지가 전달될 수밖에 없습니다. 이는 관광 산업의 감소로 이어질 것이며, 결과적으로 관광 관련 일자리에 의존하는 많은 필리핀 근로자들의 생계를 위협할 것입니다.
